Insolite

a definition:
Some might just say it is "strange" but it carries a more surrealistic taste to it. See the Musee de Insolite hanging from the cliff's over the Cele River in the Lot Region. Richard Schechner (“The Bald Soprano and The Lesson: An Inquiry into Play Structure,” Ionesco: A Collection of Critical Essays, 1973), defines the word as “the astonishing, the unmaskingness of experience—as when the side of a building falls down to reveal your wife (or husband) in the arms of her (his) lover.”
