Saturday cycle and work....

I cycled more or less directly to Ronse today and then took the long way back. 70 km, maybe? Beautiful hills, hamlets, byways and just one stretch of cobblestones. Coffee on the main square in Ronse - the fire department was setting up for a celebration in the square tonight. Tinder dry wood construction set up in the middle looks ready to burn, baby burn. Stage, sound system, lights, bleachers - fun for some!

Excellent cycling weather, cool, mostly sunny, dry - earlier in the week was the warmest day on record for Belgium - 101 F, though I was in a different area that day.

I got back in time to receive a phone call inviting me to meet with a member of the Belgian Constitutional Court on Monday to discuss my project. Another AFS connection of Lieven's, of course. (He and 9 day old Meip were hanging with the Begian Prime Minister and a Belgian Princess at a big AFS celebration in Iepers last year.) AFS isn't like the G8 or the Trilateral Commission, but its got connections....

So, 3.5 more hours of adding stuff. Now I need to start editing down.

Time for a beer. Did I say they have good beer in Belgium?
